Exciting First Game for the 4s

EUWAFC 4s v EUMLFC 1s.

Squad: Watt, Baker, Swift, Sillars, Hassan, Lee, Myllniemi, Murray, Beach, Wright, Ortiz, Kezarm, Gosdon, Saunt Hills.

The 4s turned up excited for their first ever EUWAFC match with some great fans down supporting.

EUMLFC brought the game straight to the 4s with an early goal conceded by the 4s. However, the 4s bounced back from this with a wonderful strike 7 minutes later to equal the playing field. This was quickly followed by reorganisation of the Medics and two more goals to make the score 3-1 to EUMLFC. The 4s continued to battle on with some lovely build up play and connecting throughout the team as many on the team adjusted to playing their first 11-a side game. The Medics added to their score with another goal 20 minutes into the first half.

The 4s were not disheartened with an incredible run up all the way down the wing fro Pippa crossing the ball beautifully for Claire to slot it in and get a goal back making the score 4-2 to the Medics. Just before half time the 4s continued to improve quickly and Jennifer drove forwards and finished clinically with a shot into the top right corner to bring the score back to 4-3! Game on!

Half time finally came about after an eventful first half but lots of positives for Coach Sean to draw on. The 4s came back ready to dig deep. After some excellent play and substitutes coming on, the game was very close with the Medics putting the pressure on Edinburgh’s defence. Despite some great defending, the Medics managed to get passed EUWAFC to put in a 5th goal. The game continued on but Edinburgh couldn’t quite draw the game back as the Medics continued to put pressure on. Although players got tired and an injury occurred, Edinburgh did manage to score one more goal so that the game ended 8-4 to the Medics. Thanks to EUMLFC for a great day at Peffermill!
