30 years and counting...
EUWAFC is one of the fastest growing clubs at the University of Edinburgh, with opportunities for students to play football in a competitive and social environment.
We are currently home to 4 competitive football teams including a Saturday Recreational programme which is the biggest one in Scotland!
Our teams
Opportunities for everyone
All teams currently compete in the Scottish leagues, with the 1st and 2nd team both in Scottish 1A, the 3rd team in 2A, the 4th team in 3A and the 5th team competing in 3B.
Our recreational programme is hosted every Saturday morning at Peffermill playing fields on 5-a-side pitches. The programme has recently seen its most successful years yet with record high numbers and a historical first 11-a-side friendly with Glasgow University which Edinburgh won 9-1 early in 2023.
Wider opportunities
We offer opportunities to play within the Scottish Women's league structure
In addition to our BUCS and recreational football, we formed a partnership with Boroughmuir Thistle FC, the largest women's and girls' football club in Scotland, in 2021. The partnership provides a route for University students to play SWPL2 football which is the second highest level of women's football in Scotland.
Additionally, we provide opportunities for football to non-student players. Our Edinburgh Uni Thistle team formed through our Boroughmuir Thistle partnership competes throughout the year in SWFL East and is open to non-University members.
