1st team face tough battle in first game of the season

Heading into the premiership, the EUWAFC 1s knew their first match against Loughborough would be a challenge. Unfortunately, a strong first half from Loughborough proved too much to overcome with the final score of 6-2 in favour of the visitors. Despite the scoreline, there were positives to take from the game. The second half proved promising for Edinburgh with a number of chances on goal. In her debut for the club, first-year Jennifer Brown scored two goals. Set up by a ball over the top by fellow first-year Juliette Kelly, Brown chipped the keeper for a beautiful far-post finish. Coming off the bench, Kirstie McIntosh, another first-year making her debut, created numerous attacking chances, including a well-timed assist for Brown's second goal. Edinburgh's play in the second half also saw defensive improvements, preventing Loughborough from adding to their goal tally. Although disappointed with the final result, the young 1s team remains positive and determined. They are eager for next week's match away at Durham, where they hope to get their first win!
