Futsal Round-up for 04/11/17
38 goals scored, 0 conceded; definitely not a bad way to start the futsal season! The 1s and 2s were both in action today at West Lothian College, where they played their first games of the year. Unfortunately West Lothian College didn't show up, so the 1s were awarded a walkover for the game. The first game of the day (that was actually played!!) was the 2s v The University of the West of Scotland. The 2s were quick to start off, and scored 7 goals in the first half. Credit to UWS who didn't give up and came out stronger in the second half. However this didn't stop Edinburgh from getting in another 2, making the final score 9-0. The 1s played UWS a couple of hours later, in their only game of the day. Goals came early and consistently, and the score at half time was 10-0 to Edinburgh. UWS were fighting hard, so Edinburgh did have to demonstrate their strength and skill on the pitch. As expected, more goals came in the second half, with a hattrick for Sarah and doubles for Margaux and Grete with 6 goals a piece. Final score was an impressive 17-0. The final Edinburgh game was the 2s v Dundee uni, which started off with a high intensity. The girls fought hard though and then the goals started coming, with a half time score of 7-0 again. Dundee had a few good chances, including a free kick, but luckily these were all saved. More goals for Edinburgh made the final score of the final game 12-0, with all of the outfield players ending the day with a goal to their name. Overall it was a great day and it was great to see the girls putting what they have learnt from training into action, with lots of skills being shown off and many goals coming off the ends of creative runs and passes. Our next fixtures are only 2 weeks away, where both teams face Stirling 2s and the 1s face Dundee uni. Should be another exciting day!
