Match Report: 2nd Team Battle Hard Against St. Andrews

After a fantastic 11-1 victory against Robert Gordon last week, the 2nd team went into the game against St. Andrews with confidence. Off the back of a 3-0 loss to Edinburgh 1st Team last week, St. Andrews 1st team went into the game with a point to prove.

The game started evenly with no goals conceded in the first 15 minutes, something the 2nd team were looking to improve upon. Unfortunately some good play saw St. Andrews through on goal a few times during the first half where they took advantage with some great goals to make the score 0-3 at half time. The 2nd team created their own chances too however and actually won a penalty late into the first half too which saw a decent effort from Rachel Thompson saved by the keeper.

The pressure from St. Andrews continued into the 2nd half and the game finished 0-5. The 2nd team didn't give up however and battled hard for each other until the final whistle. Man of the match went to Olivia Fraser for a commanding performance in central midfield.

Thanks to club photographer Fiona Boslem from Element Photography for taking some fantastic pictures of the game, including the squad photo you can see below.
