Edinburgh 3s kicked off their season to a brilliant start on Wednesday October 10th. The 3s were prepared to defend the clubs two varsity wins over St. Andrews with another away match. The sun was bright for an unseasonably warm day. Edinburgh kicked off with a strong start and heavy offensive push. Hard Fought and Narrow Loss for Edinbrugh 2s
On Wednesday 10th October, our 2nd team travelled up over the bridge to face St Andrew’s 1st Team away from home. This was just the 2nd game of the season for the 2s and off the back of a spectacular 5-0 victory away to Abertay. The team travelled with an optimistic mindset, however they knew they’d be facing a physical and experienced St Andrews 1st Team. Stunning 7-0 Shut Out for Edinburgh 1s
The 1s kicked off their second game of the season against Aberdeen on a warm and sunny day. Conditions are great at the stadium pitch. Edinburgh assert their dominance early on in the game, with Kim taking a fantastic volley off a great delivery from Coppel at 5 minutes. A second goal comes a few minutes later, with another assist from Coppel, passing to Macleod on the flank who fires it in with a fantastic strike in the top corner. 2nd Team Sweep the Field in 5-0 Triumph
On Wednesday 3rdof October EUWAFC’s 2ndteam travelled to Dundee to play against Abertay University who were promoted into division 1A after last season. As it was the first BUCS match of the season the whole team was excited to be playing competitive football once again. Despite an eventful start of struggling to find the changing rooms and the pitch EUWAFC maintained their focus towards the match. On Wednesday October 3rd, the 1s kicked off their season with a windy game against St. Andrews on the stadium pitch. The first half saw Edinburgh maintain the majority of the possession, but unable to convert any chances. The opposing wind made it difficult for Edinburgh to capitalize on long balls that attempted to break through the St Andrews defensive line.
