In their first league game back, The 2s lost a hard fought game versus St. Andrews 1s at home on Wednesday evening.
The first half was fairly even, with Edinburgh’s defense making an incredible effort to keep the ball out of the box. The girls battled hard and went into half time having known they worked their hardest and needed to keep this up!
However, the second half drifted in favour of St. Andrews, who kept the ball in Edinburgh’s end for a majority of the half. Keeper Sarah Thornton made save after save in goal, but was injured and had to leave the game. Captain Kirsty Wilson took over for her, and the game remained tied until a free kick for St. Andrews found its way into the net. Overall a remarkable effort from Edinburgh, ending in a frustrating 1-0 loss.
